On 4th November, two fire-fighters were killed in a flashover at a house fire at Digne-les-Bains in the Alps. Michaël Baghioni, aged 35, was a professional fire-fighter while Yann Siméoni, aged 16, was a volunteer. The fire brigade was called at 20:00 and the fire was out by 02:00. President Hollande and Prime Minister Ayrault have offered condolences and announced that there will be an enquiry. The occupant of the house, who called the fire brigade, was unharmed.
