Spain has drafted a decree to set out the requirements of individuals and companies engaged in the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems. The decree also sets out the intervals between inspections and makes clear that deficiencies must be remedied. Once enacted, this decree is set to effect a major improvement in the quality of fire protection systems in Spain, where currently many systems are installed by companies that do not have the necessary specialist knowledge.
